By Ferry
You can travel from Ullapool to Stornoway in less than 3 hours on the large and comfortable Calmac ferry, the "Isle of Lewis ". Alternatively you can choose the shorter crossing (1hr 40mins ) from Uig on Skye to Tarbert on Harris. During your journey across the Minch you can take in an array of islands, as well as carry out a bit of dolphin and porpoise spotting! www.calmac.co.uk.

Great News - Road Equivalent Tarriff (RET) is the experimental ferry charging system introduced with the Cal Mac winter timetable 2008. It means that all travellers to and from the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides) and Tiree will have a reduced ferry fare for a 30 month trial period.
